Ever since I was a little girl I wanted to be a fashion designer. I would carry a sketch book around with me, filled with pages and pages of dresses. I would come up with different shirt designs or craft earrings. At some point, my more pragmatic side took over and instead of pursuing this dream and going to fashion design school, I chose business school.
Around the time that I graduated was when I first had the idea to start a handbag company. I was just starting out in the workplace and wanted a professional, but stylish briefcase. The reality was, I couldn't afford multiple workbags for every outfit, every day and for every occassion. I didn't want to invest in a basic black briefcase or a fun red one that only went with a few outfits. That's when the inception of a dynamic and versatile workbag came to mind. I held on to this idea for years, never pursuing it as a business.
Ten years later, I have held onto this idea, and finally, decided to go for it. There was something inside me that said, you will regret not making this vision a reality.
Now, more than ever, I am determined to redefine and redesign the female briefcase.
So, here's to ten years of inception... and finally launching LYRA & LUXE
